test battery which includes screening tests and then more
difficult listening tests to target more critical listening
skills. These tests include listening through headphones in
difficult listening situations…changes in speed or rate,
complexity of content, and leading ear preference.
What Can Be Done for APD?
There
are many computer based learning programs that are used as part of your
child’s therapy. Earobics and Fast Forward are two of the more
frequently recommended programs available for home and school use. Keep
in mind that evaluation and treatment for APD are a team approach
usually managed by the speech pathologist or special education teacher. |
