Hearing Loss Types
A hearing test tells us your degree of hearing loss and the type of hearing loss, both of which guide our recommendations.
Types of hearing loss include: Conductive and Sensorineural
| · |
Conductive hearing losses involve the outer and/or middle ear for which medicine, surgery or hearing aids may be recommended |
| · |
Sensorineural hearing losses involve the inner ear for which hearing aids are typically recommended |
When hearing aids are not recommended:
| · |
In the presence of an actively draining ear |
| · |
When the word recognition is vastly different between ears |
| · |
When other symptoms such as dizziness, one sided hearing loss and tinnitus are presented |
